Former Russian prima-ballerina who danced on the World’s best stages, Katya is the founder of the Pilates Academy SA (Instructor training for health professionals). She is a certified PMA® teacher with 20 years of experience. Katya is highly skilled at facilitating group training. She supplemented her expertise with numerous specialist courses – SI joint dysfunction, spinal bio-mechanics, shoulder rehab, muscle activation, body sensing, fascial fitness, kinetic precision, Lyno® and many others.
Katya regularly works with elite athletes, refining their technique for better results in competitive fields. Collaborating with physiotherapists and chiropractors, she has helped many people return to their sport and life activities after debilitating injuries.
Balule game reserve is a protected area, part of a wildlife conservation initiative of approximately 40.000ha sharing an open border with the world renown Kruger national Park. Balule initially consisted in several separate fenced game farms. In the early 1990s, landowners decided to remove the fences separating their properties in aid of conservation in order to increase the grazing area for the local wildlife and to diversify the animal gene pool.
Part of a huge ecosystem and home to an abundance of wildlife and birdlife, Balule represents an excellent opportunity to encounter the Big 5 and a full diverse range of other indigenous wildlife – this area has it all.
Built on an old anthill, Nambu camp – which means “river” – overlooks a winding dry riverbed, bustling waterhole and the majestic Drakensberg mountains in the distance. Nambu Camp has been part of the Drinkwater family for 4 decades and is full of charming corners and different atmospheres. The sense of hospitality of the owners as well as their staff will make you feel home from the moment you arrive. Simplicity often goes along with beauty…
